Baby Summer Products to Use & Avoid!

Summertime can be a great time for you & your baby to enjoy each other. However, summertime also means sizzling heat, sun, sand & the beach.

No worries, we have the perfect must-have & must-avoid summer products to ensure your baby be healthy & happy!

Products to Use:

  1. SPF Water-resistant Sun creams

It is imperative to protect your baby’s skin during summertime. A water-resistant sun cream with SPF 30 or above will even last in the pool and protect your baby’s skin. Use mineral-based sunscreens without nanoparticles, also known as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.

  1. Adjustable Swim Diapers

A very handy product to stock on, these diapers are good for your baby & your budget. These diapers do not get soggy and heavy while your baby is in the water & keep him\her comfortable throughout.

  1. Baby Swimsuits

Covering more of baby's skin with a swimsuit is a great way to protect against sunburns. There are also swimsuits options available that provide SPF protection.

  1. Sunglasses & a hat

Wearing sunglasses in combination with a hat can help protect your child’s eyes. Look for close-fitting, wrap-around sunglasses. Prolonged exposure to UV is a risk factor for cataracts.

  1. Clothing

Use loose-fitting clothing for your babies to keep him\her cooler. Tightly woven fabric helps protect your child’s skin from the sun. Hold the fabric up to the light to see how much sun gets through. If the fabric lets a lot of light through, it will probably let a lot of UV through too. Cotton clothing is cooler than clothing made from acrylic fibers.

Products to Avoid:

  1. Avoid combination sunscreens containing insect repellants. Babies may lick their hands or put them in their mouths.
  1. Fragrance is added to disposable diapers, baby powder, baby wash and shampoo, lotions, and many other baby products. Some fragmented products can cause skin damage & rashes especially in the summer, buy fragrance products that are paraben-free!

If you have the right gear for your baby to enjoy the summer, you have the peace of mind that your child is safe and happy.
